A wise philosopher once said that politicians make political decisions. That same sage stated that voters make political decisions, too.

Here's a link to a USA Today presidential candidate quiz that is designed, apparently, to help match you to a candidate that most corresponds to your political views--regarding the issues about which the quiz queries.
What questions, in your opinion, are missing from the quiz? What questions do you think the quiz should have asked? What questions are most important to you in terms of your choice of a Presidential candidate? Why?
Post your results in the comments section as you answer the above questions. We'll discuss all of this on Monday, in addition to your reading about the Industrial Revolution.

I found the USA presidential candidate quize to be interesting and helpful. It helped me identify my policial views with those of a current political candidate. In my opinion they should have asked questions about military drafting and the public school systems.Other than that, the candidate that I mostly corresponded with was Hilary Clinton!
I took the quiz and found the 3 I correspond with are Sam Brownback, John McCain, and Duncan Hunter. I really take things like these with a grain of salt. I prefer to do my own research and listen to the debates and see the candidate's reactions and thoughts rather than see what was written on paper. Quizzes and such are merely fun and SHOULD NOT be what a person uses to determine their political standing.
When i took the quiz i was John McCain, rudy Giuliani, and Mitt Romney. I would rather write what i think about each issue rather than choosing an answer that is half of what i thought.

I thought there should have been more questions to make the quiz more accurate.
I was Fred Thompson and Duncan Hunter and someone esle

i was duncan hunter, kind of ironic. I agree with davison that there should have been more questions to make it accurate, but i also think that there should have been a free response area for each question because i dont think that the answers given provided a full opinion on some of the subjects, one of those being immigration, also i think it would have been good to be able to check more than one answer. chris duncan
When I took the quiz I was Sam Brownback, Mitt Romney, and Mike Huckabee. The questions that were asked were quite vague in some areas and the choices did not cover all opinions. Chris is right there should have been some type of free response section for greater accuracy.

i like these quizzes. i think there should be more questions. i was rudi g. i think the answers should be better and more personal. you know? connorw
I was Mitt Romney, Duncan Hunter, and Mike Huckabee. I thought that the quiz had questions that are for people who knew more about these government problems, and that some of the questions were hard to choose one answer. Cooper Smith
this quiz seemed to show me that my political beliefs are scattered between parties, but i mostly agree with mitt romney.
i thought this quiz should have included arguments about military drafting and other ways to finish what weve started in iraq..
My Candidates were Mitt Romney, Tom Tancredo, and Fred Thompson. The questions were good but i don't really know enough info about Health Care and Taxes. My views might change when I have a job and when i have to start paying taxes for things.

I was John McCain, Hillary Clinton, and Fred Thompson. I think that there should have been more questions and they should have made the answers more in depth. I also think they should have explained more for people that don't really know that much about it or have a strong opinion.

when i took the quiz, i was Bill Richardson, Dennis Kucinich and John Edwards. They are all Democrats.

I got Mike Gravel, Joseph Biden, Chris Dodd. The quiz definitely covered all of the major campaign topics, like Iraq, global warming, and immigration. I can't vote in this election but at least now i have a vague idea of who to root for.
I was Mike Huckabee, Mitt Romney, and Sam Brownback. I thought the questions were very good but if you didn't not know some of the details of the subjects it was hard to answer. I also thought some of the questions were vague and could have been more in depth. I do believe all the questions asked were general questions needed to be asked when deciding about one of our future presidents.

My candidates were Rudy Giuliani, Chris Dodd, and Mitt Romney. I liked how the quiz allowed you to be unbiased by not including which candidates agreed with what views. I thought it was a good summary of the important topics.

The results I incurred included Mitt Romney, Mike Huckabee, and surprisingly, Hilary Clinton. The first time I took the quiz, the candidate that I was most similar to regarding my views was Hilary Clinton. I'm quite opposed to her political insight, so I was a bit surprised! I agree with some of the prior bloggers regarding a free response question! The quiz hit most of the major and relevant political issues, but it was awfully hard to find an answer that really hit my opinion on the spot!...But it was fun!!!
i am not exactly sure which presidential candidate you are in favor of, but I still think it is a democrat. When I took the quiz over again trying to answer how I think you might, I came up with Chris Dodd however in a reevaluation I realized John McCain or Duncan Hunter best fits your opinions. I am most like Mitt Romney and I was pretty surprised to see that because I felt I had more in common with John McCain.
My results were Mike Huckabee, Sam Brownback, and Mitt Romney. I think they should of asked how they plan to stop the terroist threat or at least how they were going to protect us from them. I think it should have had more questions like that. The most important question i would have to say would be about the tropps in Iraq. I think at this time and in this next presidency is going to be the biggest decision on this matter. I think a good president is needed for this.
My political view were put under Tom Tancredo, Mitt Romney, and Mike Hucjabee. i think it is interesting that the quiz can assess your political view with only a few questions. And some of these questions don't have an answer that T totally agree with.

The candidates that I share the most views are Matt Romney, Rudy Giuliani, and John McCain. This quiz was pretty cool because now i know a little more about all the different candidates. -Carly Calhoun
I thought this was an easy and informative quiz to take but i think it had its gaps, but personally i am not that aware of certain issues the questions addressed. For example, the tax problem questions were difficult becuase i do not directly deal with them, so if i had know more about what the questions were asking i might have recieved different canidates.

The three presidential candidates which the computer matched me were Mitt Romney, Dennis Kucinich, and Mike Gravel. If I hadn't of done this quiz I don't think I would have even know some of the candidates names. It helped me get to know each candidate and what their views are.
-Staley
the candidate that matched me the most was mike huckabee. i think the question missing on the quiz was the candidates' views on abortion. the quiz was fun and i learned a lot about the different candidates.

I was matched with Mitt Romney, Mike Huckabee, and John McCain. I liked this quiz because it helped me get a better understanding of some of the situations that are surfacing within the presidential campaign.

When I took the quiz I was John McCain, Rudy Guliani, and Mitt Romney. I agree with most of my fellow peers in that there should have been more in-depth questions. But I do understand how the questions which are chosen for this poll help determine your stand in politics with certain politicians. The poll creates a better understanding of some of the key concepts of this upcoming Presidential election

When I took the quiz, the results told me that my political views were most compatable with those of Mitt Romney, Mike Huckabee, and John McCain. I enjoyed the quiz because it helped me understand which political candidates share my views and concerns. This quiz could be very helpful to someone who was unsure of which presidential candidate to support because the results give you the top three candidates who share ones same views. It is also helpful because the quiz did not wrestle with only one issue but many important issues.

My top three candidates were Ron Paul, Hilary Clinton, and Bill Richardson. The quiz should have covered questions such as abortion rights, the war on drugs, and religion in public schools. The quiz did hit on the main issues. I also think its interesting as I read the previous posts that the majority of students ended up most like smaller candidates and only a handful turned out as Hilary or Rudy. Also not one person has put Obama or Paul on the wall. Also two of the three candidates that were chosen for me were two that I liked prior to taking the poll.
After taking the quiz, I was matched with Republicans: Tom Tancredo, Mike Huckabee, and Mitt Romney. This quiz helped me get a better understanding about each of the politcal views and the candidates representing them. I do however agree with previous comments on the need for more in depth questions concearning abortion, taxes, etc.
-Jennifer Gurney
When i took the quiz i was John McCain, rudy Giuliani, and Mitt Romney. I would rather write what i think about each issue rather than choosing an answer that is half of what i thought. I think that topics that we were answering questions from where good questions to ask.
~Kirstyn
after taking this quiz... i was matched with Hunter, McCain, and Tancredo. I had not heard of some of the candidates running, and this quiz allowed me to get a better feel for their views. I agree that there could have been more in depth questions, however, some of those questions really made me think on where my beliefs are in the system. i went back and forth on some of the answers. I'm glad to know who i matched up with in the polls- J.Graves
Some of the questions were kind of hard to decide on answers for. I wasn't really a fan of the whole gloabal warming question, but i guess it also has to do with pollution and stuff. oh and all of the people i matched up with were republicans. I dont think its a coincidence at all. good to know who share the same postitions in all of the conflicts.
I got matched up with Obama, Clinton, and John Edwards. Like a lot of people in here have said, there probably shoud have been more questions, since this only scraped the surface, but its a good start for those who need to figure out who to support. Anyway, if i were old enough, id vote for real. Go Obama! :) Cris S. (1st period)
P.S. I found it rather funny that nearly everyone that posted had Romney somewhere in thier top 3, whereas I had absolutely nothing in common with his beliefs/ideas.
i am Minh Phan
i took the presidental candidate quiz, it matched me with Hillary Clinton and Barrack Obama. i think it's right since i like the democrat's point of view about the war in Iraq, and other issues
